About

Josh’s family has been carving for more than three generations going as far back as his grandfather, George Gulli Sr., an Italian-American wood-carver who became world-renowned for his work on Marriott’s Great America in Santa Clara, CA in the 1970’s where he was a featured artist for many years, even earning a mention in the Jonny Carson show and appearing as a featured character the in the Dennis the Menace visits Marriott’s Great America series.
He then decided to settle down with his family in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana where he continued his wood carving and passed all of his knowlege down to his son – my Father, George Gulli Jr. This was the beginning of the George Gulli and Son totem pole and custom wood carving family business.
Josh was raised in this atmosphere and grew up with a great appreciation for art, learning as much as he could from his parents – attaining carving skills from his Father and picking up painting from his Mother. It was inevitable that he would apprentice under his father and continue his family’s creative legacy.
